When we were young, we learned that repeated actions become habits, and habits build the guiding force of our lives. We might call it “karma.”

I love learning—from science to crochet—driven by curiosity and the quiet joy of discovery. I see this same spirit in my cousin, whose passion for reading and writing helped her become fluent in many languages. Curiosity, reading, and writing form the bedrock that nurtures us.

While passion fuels our interests, daily life demands commitment to tasks we disrelish. Setting a clear intent turns routine duties into meaningful steps toward a larger purpose.

Learning is a lifelong process, and falling is an inevitable part of it. Setbacks do not waste time—they reveal character. Real failure happens only when we abandon what truly matters.

Many of us return to one central question: “How do we turn personal healing into a purpose that serves others?”
Our memoir and its ongoing platform offer one answer. Facing the unknown can be intimidating, but the response is simple: do first, then find out. Call it an experiment.

Determine the Strength
When empathy is in action, kindness is our shield during healing. Start inward so we can offer it outward. Extending kindness to the world creates the momentum that sustains our mission.

We do not need to live in past pain; we can use our experience to protect others. Among 8.3 billion people, suffering is shared, yet not everyone knows how to heal. Understanding our pain grants us the insight to guide others through theirs.

Read, Write, Listen, Speak
Let us nurture our connection to the world through what we love. Write our stories: what hurt, why it hurt, how we healed, what failed, and what worked. So much rests on our perspective and choices. Often, seeing a familiar truth through a new lens becomes a profound discovery.

Stay the Course
Obstacles—personal, professional, technical, or emotional—are natural. If the path were effortless, its fruit would carry no value. Yet, good intent generates vital energy.

We must not mistake missteps for failure. Use mistakes as insight, stay grounded in our purpose, and remember that small, intentional daily actions create lasting change.

In darkness, a candle changes everything. We can be proud that in dark times, we chose to illuminate the path for others.

...This is the purpose of the Victim Shield—to transform the victim’s pain into a force for good. It’s a place where we can take action from our anguish by leveraging a fundamental human value: empathy…
